De Sweet Iron eggbut with medium port has af fixed cheek piece in relation to the mouth piece, the bit offers more moderate lateral control. In combination with a medium port mouth piece gives the rider a lot of leverage. A straight mouth piece with tongue port gives more pressure on the layers and keeps the tongue free.

The eggbut is a common multi-dicipline style of  cheekpiece. It comes in different vaiarities, like jointed, double jointed and straight. It has a fixed mouth piece wich prevents pinching  the edges of the horse mouth as is seen by a loose ring. It also offers more moderate lateral control.

Sweet iron will rust when it comes into contact with (air) humidity; the surface rust tastes sweet and naturally stimulates the saliva production. This will cause the horse to salivate more which in turn encourages better acceptance of the bit. The rusting process (oxidation) changes the blue colour of the TRUST-bit to a brownish-grey.If a sweet iron bit is not used for a while, an orange-brown rust layer may develop on the mouthpiece. Simply remove this by wiping the bit with a damp cloth.
