Bij een trenshoofdstel met een lage neusriem loopt de neusriem over het bit heen. Dit zorgt voor een stille ligging van het bit, maar geeft weer een andere druk. Zo geeft deze neusriem druk op de mond, neus en onderkaak van het paard. Zorg ervoor dat de lage neusriem niet te laag zit en dat er minimaal 2 vinger tussen de neus en de neusriem passen.
