Trust Sweet Iron eliptical Dr. Bristol Eggbut 16 mm

The Sweet Iron dr. Bristol Eggbut by Trust is a eliptical bit of which the middle part is thinner. When the horse is relaxed during riding the middle piece is flat on the tongue give a light pressure. When the horse comes against the bit the middle part flips which creates more and sharper pressure.  

The eggbut:

The eggbut is a common multi-dicipline style of  cheekpiece. It comes in different vaiarities, like jointed, double jointed and straight. It has a fixed mouth piece wich prevents pinching  the edges of the horse mouth as is seen by a loose ring. It also offers more moderate lateral control.

Sweet iron will rust when it comes into contact with (air) humidity; the surface rust tastes sweet and naturally stimulates the saliva production. This will cause the horse to salivate more which in turn encourages better acceptance of the bit. The rusting process (oxidation) changes the blue colour of the TRUST-bit to a brownish-grey.If a sweet iron bit is not used for a while, an orange-brown rust layer may develop on the mouthpiece. Simply remove this by wiping the bit with a damp cloth.
