What is the MIPS safety system?

If we look at our heads, we see that our brains are connected to the skull with a layer of fluid. In the event of a fall, our brains move a little in the head and are thereby protected. If the horse falls, the blow is much greater and so is the risk of brain damage.

MIPS

Where the MIPS system distinguishes itself from regular helmets is that an extra thin (yellow) shell is applied in the helmet. This one moves a bit during a fall. As a result, the skull also moves, so that the impact the brain makes is much smaller. This greatly reduces the risk of brain damage.

The helmet has been approved according to the new safety standard CE VG1 01.040 2014-12.

The Swedish insurance company Folksam has investigated 15 different helmets for safety. The EQ3 Lynx MIPS was placed from Back on Track Best in Test 2018. This helmet is the in size adjustable helmet with the wheel.

Back on Track EQ3 MIPS, the custom-made helmet, deserved the designation "Good choice".

The Back on Track EQ3 MIPS helmet has been named 'Best Product of 2016' by Eisma Media Group, known from De Paardenkrant, BIT, Horses.nl, Dressage and HorseTelex.

When testing multi-branded helmets, the EQ2, the predecessor of the EQ3, was declared the best riding helmet 2014 by the Swedish insurance company Folksam.
