When sweating heavily, a horse loses electrolytes (salts such as chloride, sodium, potassium, magnesium and calcium) and trace elements (e.g. zinc) in addition to moisture. A horse’s sweat contains more electrolytes per litre of fluid than blood or any other body fluids. A horse loses its appetite to drink when the electrolyte concentration in the body is low, possibly resulting in dehydration, despite the availability of fresh drinking water.

Feed instructions
25 grams per 1 litre of water

To be administered in the period from 1 day before to 2 days after the effort. Maximum of 100 grams per day. Make sure sufficient fresh drinking water is available at all times.
