HELTIE horse® Silicon for horses is made from hydrolyzed silicon and supports the development of bones, cartilage, hooves, skin, and coat.
HELTIE horse was one of the first brands to introduce a liquid silicon for horses to the market. There were many questions at that time as not much was known about the mineral silicon and its benefits for horses. However, it is now well known that silicon is an extremely important mineral for horses and that it is essential in some cases.
Bones and hooves are slow-growing tissues, therefore the mineral silicon for horses needs time to take effect. Provide silicon for at least 2-3 months and for hooves at least 4-6 months. Silicon for horses can be given continuously, especially recommended for older horses.

HELTIE horse Silicium has the following benefits for your horse:
- Hydrolyzed silica: Our liquid, hydrolyzed silica for horses is fully absorbable and usable by the horse. Hydrolyzed means that the silica molecule is bonded to 2 water molecules, which supports absorption and ensures that the pH of HELTIE horse Silicium is around 10. Therefore, our silica does not contain any extra additives or dilutions to stabilize the pH.
- Small molecules: Sand is also a form of silica, which is why horses start eating sand when there is a deficiency of silica. However, the molecules in sand are too large and therefore not absorbable by horses. The silica in HELTIE horse Silicium is small enough to pass through the intestinal wall and is fully absorbable.
- Supports bones and cartilage: silica for horses supports the production of naturally occurring glucosamine and can therefore be very effective in supporting bones, joints, and cartilage.
- Supports hooves, skin, and coat: HELTIE horse Silicium can be used as an alternative to biotin for horses. It supports hoof quality, skin, and provides a shiny coat.
- Supports tendons: During tendon repair, new connective tissue is formed. Silica is an important mineral for connective tissue and supports healing tendons.
- Helps with sand eating: Sand is a form of silica that the horse cannot utilize. To help stop sand eating, we recommend adding HELTIE horse Silicium to the horses' diet.
Dosage & Application:
HELTIE horse® Silicium can be provided as a top dressing or mixed into drinking water. Always store silica between 5 and 35 degrees, preferably at a as constant a temperature as possible.
Dosage: 1 x daily 1 ml per 50 kg body weight.
