Petrie Bootcare Set

Riding boots are exposed daily to conditions that can be harmful to the leather, such as sweat, ammonia, manure, horsehair, rain, and mud. Although wear and tear are inevitable with intensive use, you can extend the lifespan of your boots by maintaining them optimally. That's why Petrie has developed the Bootcareset, a special care line to ensure you can enjoy your riding boots for as long as possible!

Step 1: Hydrate with Petrie Cream before riding
Before riding, apply a hydrating and colorless boot cream to the entire riding boot, such as Petrie Riding Boot Cream. Choose a cream that spreads easily and shines, but is not too greasy to prevent sand and dust from sticking to the boot. The cream nourishes the leather and protects it from external influences, such as horse sweat. Do not apply the cream to the inside of the boot to maintain moisture absorption and water repellency.

Tip: Polish the boots with pantyhose for a beautiful shine.

Step 2: Clean with Petrie Cleaner after riding
Clean the riding boots after riding with a concentrated cleaner, such as Petrie Riding Boot Cleaner. This removes the salt from the leather. Let the boots dry and then apply a leather cream. Allow it to soak in before polishing. The soaking time may vary depending on your care routine. Do not use regular leather cleaner, as it lacks sufficient salt-dissolving power and nutrients.

Tip: For Petrie Luca and Trento boots, polish the cleaner and cream thoroughly to prevent white residue.

Step 3: Keep zippers smooth with Petrie Zipspray
Keep the zippers clean and lubricated to prevent stiffness and damage. Use Petrie Zip Spray, specially developed for riding boots. The product does not attract dirt, is easy to use, and does not stick.

Step 4: Bring color to life with Color Cream
For regular maintenance, use a colorless boot cream. Once every 2-3 weeks, apply a color cream that matches the color of your boots, such as Petrie Riding Boot Color Cream. The extra pigment in this cream restores the color of the leather.

Tip: Do not use Color Cream daily to prevent your white riding breeches from getting the same color as your boots.
