Bradoons are always used in combination with a weymouth bit. It's mainly used in the higher dressage classes and only suitable for very experiencend riders. The rings of a bradoon are smaller than rings of a normal bit. The reason for the smaller rings is to create enough space for the weymouth. You'll need a double bridle to be able to ride with a weymouth and bradoon. This bradoon has a double jointed mouth piece and gives more pressure on the tongue than a single jointed bit. the double jointed KK ULTRAs have a middle link – also known as the bean – that is shortened and angled forward by 45°. Only with this angle the middle link lies gently on the tongue resulting in even and constant contact to allow clear instructions through the reins. The KK ULTRA mouthpiece with the middle link turned forward by 45° provides gentle but effective communication with the horse. The additional feature of the WH ULTRA bits is a unique roller in the center section that brings an even better focus for the horse onto the tongue.
