F.R.A. Chiron

F.R.A. bitless system 1: Working principle: pressure on the neck. Construction: Although we don't immediately think of an optoming when we see a riding ring, also called a neck ring, we can still talk about optoming. After all, the ring is the only physical aspect of communication between rider and horse. F.R.A.® riding rings are constructed of a cotton coated, stainless steel beaten wire core. A 10mm universal and a 12mm pro version are available. An ingenious knot construction allows the ring to be adjusted to the desired diameter. Location: Riding with a riding ring is a form of subtle communication, it is that communication in which the rider, consciously or unconsciously, determines the location of the riding ring. Riding without any form of physical communication, and thus without a ring, requires a certain amount of experience. With the riding ring, the experienced rider has a means to very subtly reinforce the effects that he gives mentally, from his seat and other body aids. Especially mentally it brings the rider balanced peace, knowing that, coming into a less controllable situation, he has something extra to work into. That extra incorporation is quite possible with the riding ring. Especially in such situations, body aids for stops and turns, in combination and coupled with the riding ring, come through extremely reinforced. It is only then that you feel that with respect to a riding ring, you can indeed speak of optoming. What is clear about the use of a riding ring is its optimum discriminating power and the fact that it is immediately and completely released when the ring is taken off the horse's neck. Suitability: The degree of experience of the rider is decisive. The riding ring is for the experienced rider a tool to stabilize his body aids in any situation in a very balanced way. It allows him or her to build a very refined communication with the horse. In general you can say that riding in a ring starts in a relatively small enclosed space and depending on your experience you can expand. The less experienced rider, however, will also be able to experience and expand this form of horse handling, whether or not under the guidance of an instructor, as long as he has created the prerequisites for the initially confined space. From this and from the above points it can be concluded that it depends very much on the judgement of the experienced or less experienced rider which horse in which situation offers possibilities for riding in a riding ring. Factors like an enclosed area, known or unknown environment and character of the horse play an important role. The creation of an intimate, often mental connection makes this way of riding an unprecedented experience. The trust between rider and horse in this way can not be achieved in any other way. The sense of balance, especially when the rider leaves the saddle behind, is developed unprecedentedly fast and well, because blockades as a result of physical obstacles that are no longer there, can no longer form an obstacle. Rider and horse can achieve an optimal development of the above-mentioned sense of balance and melt together, as it were, with one instead of two common centers of gravity. The resulting freedom of movement for both rider and horse provides opportunities to develop a better sense of riding in all disciplines in a relatively short period of time.
