To determine the correct size of boots, it is important to take two measurements:

• Calf circumference: measure the widest part of the calf while wearing breeches/socks.
• Height from the heel to the back of the knee: Measure from the heel to the back of the knee or the desired height of the boot. 

Make sure you are standing upright, hold the measuring tape horizontally (not too tight) and allow for 0.5 cm more height if necessary, as the boot can "sag" when worn.

When buying a girth, it is important to pay close attention to how the girth falls under the horse (not too high, not too low), whether it fits the saddle, which type (elastic, anatomical, non-slip) is best for your horse and discipline, and make sure you choose the correct length so that the girth is comfortable and does not chafe internally.

The right blanket size is important for your horse's comfort. A well-fitting blanket prevents chafing, accumulation at the withers and shifting while wearing.

You determine the right size by measuring your horse from chest to base of tail. Use a measuring tape and measure in a straight line along the side of the horse, from the centre of the chest to the point where the tail starts. This length (in centimetres) corresponds to the blanket size.

When trying on, check that:

• the blanket fits well at the shoulders, without pulling or pinching,
• the sides provide sufficient coverage without falling too far back,
• the buckles and fastenings adjust properly without being too tight or too loose.

To determine the correct size of riding gloves, measure the circumference of your dominant hand just below the knuckles, without including the thumb. Note the measurement in centimeters and use it to find the right glove size.

If you are between two sizes, it is better to choose the larger size for more comfort. Gloves should fit snugly—not too tight so your fingers can move freely, but not too loose. Note that some brands offer a narrow or wide fit.

Real leather is made from animal hides (such as cowhides), is a natural, renewable by-product and shows so-called natural fibre structures. Synthetic leather (such as PU, PVC) is artificially made and imitates the appearance of real skin but is in fact plastic. 

Key differences:

• Moisture regulation/breathability: genuine leather is often more breathable. 
• Maintenance and durability: genuine leather can last for years if properly maintained; synthetic leather is easier to maintain but can wear out faster or feel less natural. 
• Appearance and feel: genuine leather often has an irregular grain structure and natural aroma; synthetic leather looks more uniform and can feel more plastic. 
  
  

To determine the correct belt size, it’s important to measure your waist or hip circumference, depending on where you prefer to wear the belt.

• Measure your circumference: Use a measuring tape and measure around your waist or hips at the exact spot where the belt will sit.

• Don’t measure too tightly: Keep the tape measure straight and snug, but without pulling it tight.

The correct belt size is usually 5–10 cm longer than your measured circumference, as this corresponds to the middle hole of the belt.

Choosing the correct airbag size is essential for both comfort and safety. Keep the following points in mind:

1. Measure your height and chest circumference

• Height: Most brands specify a minimum and maximum body height for each size.

• Chest circumference: Measure around the widest part of your chest. Keep the measuring tape straight and not too tight.

2. Fit over your riding outfit
An airbag is usually worn over a riding jacket or body protector. Try it on with the clothing you normally wear while riding. The airbag should not feel tight but must fit close to the body.

3. Check the brand’s size chart
Each manufacturer uses their own sizing system. A brand-specific size chart is usually listed on the product page.

4. Freedom of movement
Make sure you can move freely: breathe comfortably, sit upright, and move your arms without restriction.
